Why Become a Realtor®

A career in real estate is both demanding and rewarding.

It requires commitment, discipline, motivation, enthusiasm and flexibility. It is definitely not a career for those who like the routine of a nine to five job.

It is vitally important for real estate agents to stay motivated - continually developing leads and cultivating clients. New agents must be prepared to make sacrifices in their daily lives. There is no official “quitting time”, and the phone will ring at any time of the day or night.

Most real estate agents earn their income by commission. Without the convenience of a pay cheque every two weeks, agents must be prepared to budget the money accordingly. Depending on market conditions – and the agent’s level of commitment to the job at hand – a month may go by without a sale. So it’s important to keep that in mind when the commissions are released.

Real estate is a rewarding field – you are helping people with what is usually the largest and most significant purchase of their lives. They depend on an agent for accurate information, expertise, and good advice. It can be a tall order to fill, but when you do, you’ve helped make the home buying or selling process easier , more straightforward, and stress-free for your customer/client – and that’s ultimately what it’s all about!
