Real Estate Associates Program (REAP)
The Real Estate Associates Program (REAP) is developed and administered by the Alberta Real Estate Association (AREA) on behalf of the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA). Completion of the program and associated examinations is one of the requirements to obtain a real estate associate licence from the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA).

This comprehensive course is offered through classroom and distance delivery. REAP is divided into three phases. Students must pass an exam at each phase in order to advance to the next phase.
Introduction to a Career in Real Estate Information Session is free on-line for those interested in a career in real estate. You will obtain valuable information helping you to make an informed decision on whether or not to become a real estate associate. For more information or to complete this information session, please go to the Real Estate Council of Alberta's website at RECA. This information session must be completed prior to registering in Phase 2.
Phase-2: Fundamentals of Real Estate covers the essentials needed for trading in real estate. Phase-2 registration requires the successfully completion of Phase-1. Furthermore, the Alberta Real Estate Assocation (AREA) needs to receive the following documents:
• Canadian high school dipolma or equivalent transcripts
• Proof of English language proficiency, if applicable (see pre-requisite requirement English Language Proficiency below for more information)
• Copy of your birth certificate
• Copy of one other piece of identification such as Alberta drivers licence, Current Canadian Passport, Canadian Permanent Resident Card, Canadian Citizenship Certificate, Canadian Forces ID Card, Government issued ID by another Province or Canadian municipal, Provincial or federal police ID

Phase-3: Real Estate Areas of Practice is divided into three sections: residential, commercial, and rural real estate. Participants must complete all three sections pass an exam for each section.
