Thursday, January 26 & Friday, January 27, 2012(9:00am - 5:00pm) Cost $273.00 including GST NAR's Green Designation is a real estate designation designed for residential, commercial and property management professionals looking to green their businesses and their lives. This course gives green brokers, agents and property managers a broad understanding of green real estate principles in an easy to comprehend way. Gain substantial knowledge on green concepts, such as sustainability and smart growth, the purpose of industry ratings and evaluation standards, and much more. After completing this course, you will have the knowledge and vocabulary to: • Explain to your clients what makes a home, building or property green. • List and market green properties. • Implement green practices into your life. • Determine the energy efficiency of a property. • Help your clients take advantage of green grants and incentives. • Assist your clients in their efforts to go green. • Build coalitions with community planners and groups to further resource-efficient communities. Successful completion of this two-day, twelve hour course counts as credit toward earning NAR's Green Designation and also meets the elective course requirement for REBAC's ABR® designation. To earn NAR's Green Designation, you must meet the following requirements: • Successfully complete the NAR Green Designation Core Course, and pass the written examination. • Successfully complete the NAR's Green Designation Elective Course, in either Residential Real Estate, Commercial Real Estate, or Property Management, and pass the written examination. Students must successfully complete the Core Course and an approved elective course within one year of each other. • Submit the Green Designation Application Form upon successful completion of the Core Course and at least one Elective Course. • Maintain active membership in the National Association of REALTORS® - either as a REALTOR® member or Institute Affiliate member – as well as maintain active membership in the Green Resource Council.
