Students enrolling in REAP classes must meet the course pre-requisites (Introduction course and exam, transcripts, application and ID) at least 2 business days prior to the course start date. Students who have not met the course pre-requisites 2 business days prior to the course start date will not be eligible to start that class.

Description:
The Real Estate Associates Program replaces the Real Estate Agents' Program.
The new program includes a broader range of content and more in-depth information relevant to the real estate industry. This program includes vital updates affecting the daily business practices of real estate associates and meets or exceeds the education standards established by the Alliance for Canadian Real Estate Education and the Canadian Real Estate Regulators.

This Course now has three phases:

Phase I: Introduction to a Career in Real Estate (6 hours)

Phase II: Fundamentals of Real Estate: (96 hours)

Phase III: Real Estate Areas of Practice

Phase 3 Real Estate Areas of Practices
Sections 7 to 9
Sections 7 (42 hours), 8 (42 hours), 9 (30 hours) - Each of these sections covers a different area of real estate practice Section 7 covers Residential Real Estate, Section 8 introduces Commercial Real Estate and Section 9 deals with Rural Real Estate.
In each section, the theory addressed in Phase 2 is applied to the real life real estate practices of industry members. Understanding the principles of property value and how to evaluate properties in each area of practice is a major focus of these sections. Working with clients is put into practice and you work through lots of case studies that replicate real life real estate transactions.

All instructors in the classroom are experienced in the industry and have successfully completed an Instructor Training program developed by the Alberta Real Estate Association (AREA).

Currently Phase I & II are only available full-time. The full-time day course is sixteen days (Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm), CREB is working on offering the REAP course part-time (Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6:30-9:30pm, and Saturdays, 9am-4pm) as well, after the summer session. Dates and times for the part-time course should be posted by the beginning of July.

Upon completion of Phase II, students must write and pass a three hour Provincial Qualifying Examination. In order to qualify to write this exam, students must have attended a minimum of 90% of the classes in the Program. Students taking REAP at CREB will automatically be scheduled to write the first exam after the completion of their course. REAP students will be registered for the first available exam date by default. Should you wish to take the exam at a different date or time, please notify the education department of the CREB immediately.

The cost of Phase II is $1,595.00 including taxes plus $131.25 for the exam (to be paid by MasterCard, VISA or Paypal at the time of the exam)

Upon successfully completion of the REAP course, including the provincial exams, a sponsorship will be required with a brokerage if joining a Company belonging to CREB to take our 3-day Orientation Course. Your Broker will then register you to become licensed with the Real Estate Council of Alberta(RECA).
