Want to know if a career in Real Estate is for you? This course is available for anyone interested in a career in Real Estate to obtain valuable information to help you make an informed decision whether or not to become a real estate associate. If you would like to pursue a career in Real Estate after you have completed this course you will then be required to write an exam in order to qualify for the Real Estate Associates Program. The Introduction to a Career in Real Estate course is a prerequisite for the Real Estate Associates Program (REAP). Anyone wanting to register in REAP will be required to complete the Introduction and pass the course exam first. There is no prerequisite to take the Introduction but proof of a high school diploma is a prerequisite for REAP. The Introduction to a Career in Real Estate is divided into two parts. The first part is self-study and discusses the role the real estate industry plays in the economy, the breadth of the industry and its various sectors, occupations within real estate and industry organizations. The second part of the course addresses what it is like to work as a real estate agent. There will be information on personal considerations, financial facts and day-to-day responsibilities of working in the industry. The structure of licensing, agency relationships and skills required by an agent will also be covered. The textbook may be picked up one week before course start date as you need time to be able to read through the textbook before the exam and the first 38 pages are required reading before the course. No refunds will be issued once course material is picked up. Costs: Introduction to a Career in Real Estate $125.00 Exam $57.75 including GST to be paid by credit card(MasterCard or VISA only) at the beginning of the exam Total cost $182.75 Exam fees are paid on-line with Visa or MasterCard at the time of the exam. However, if you do not show up for an exam that you are scheduled for, your credit card will be charged a $25.00 No Show Fee Day classes run 9:00am to 4:00pm.
