Registrations can be faxed to 218-3687, emailed to: education@creb.ca or in person at the course address below This course is available for anyone interested in a career in Real Estate to obtain valuable information to help make an informed decision on whether or not to become a real estate associate, so there are no prerequisites for this course. To prepare for the course: Introduction to a Career in Real Estate, students are required to obtain the course text book for review, and have at least the first section (32 pages) of the text read prior to class• This portion of the text discusses the role the real estate industry plays in the economy, the breadth of the industry and its various sectors, occupations within real estate and industry organizations. The in-class session will address what it is like to work as a real estate associate in Calgary. There will be information on personal considerations, financial facts and day-to-day responsibilities of working in the industry. The structure of licensing, agency relationships and skills required by an associate will also be covered. The textbook will be made available for pick up no earlier than one week before course start date. Since any part of the text book can be included on the exam, it is recommended that students take the time to review the entire text, not just the required reading. *****No course refunds can be issued once the textbook is picked up***** Costs: Course fee: $125.00 Exam fee: $58.30 including GST Total cost: $183.30 Exam fees are to be paid by credit card on-line before writing the exam in the CREB computer lab (MasterCard, VISA or Paypal only) Students who attend this course will be automatically registered for the exam in the following session, therefore students must notify the CREB® education department in the event that they do not wish to write the exam or if they wish to write on an alternative date. Students will be charged a $25.00 No Show Fee for not attending scheduled exams This P/T course runs: Tuesday & Thursday Evenings from 6:30pm-9:30pm with exam's on the following Saturday at 9:00am. Location of this course: Calgary Real Estate Board 300 Manning Road N.E. Calgary, Alberta The classroom will be announced on the white board at reception. Course Dates: • September 9 & 11, 6:30pm-9:30pm - Exam Saturday, September 13, 9am To continue with the Real Estate Associates program: To continue with the next two phases for licensing after completing this course, passing a written exam with at least 70% is required in order to qualify for the next phase of the program. The prerequisite education transcripts must also be received & approved by the Alberta Real Estate Association (AREA) first, before registration can be accepted for the next phase.
