Ronald McDonald Hustle for the House

October 15, 2018

Each year Ronald McDonald House hosts a family fun run to raise funds and awareness for the Southern Alberta Ronald McDonald House.

This year’s Hustle for the House took place on a chilly fall day which saw hundreds of bundled up, brave participants, running through frigid temperatures.

In support of the fun run, a crew of dedicated CREB® volunteers worked to keep participants hydrated as they past the CREB® Charitable Foundation water station. Volunteers cheered and applauded each participant as they headed down the path on the two-kilometer stretch.

“CREB® Charitable Foundation’s support over the years and your most recent team of water station volunteers is greatly appreciated.” said Sandi Ferchau, Corporate Relations Manager Ronald McDonald House Charities.

The CREB® Charitable Foundation is known throughout the city for our important funding but we give so much more through volunteerism. It’s all about seeing the smiles on faces and the difference you can make by donating your valuable time.

“This annual fun run event is tremendously important. Not only does it raise money for the Ronald McDonald House, but it raises critical awareness about our cause,” said Ronald McDonald House Alberta CEO Jason Evanson.

When a child gets sick or injured and they live outside of the city they often must travel to the Children’s or Foothills Hospital. Ronald McDonald House is a place for families to stay, eat and talk about the issues and challenges they are facing.

It costs us about $170 a night to look after families. That’s per family so this money is going to go a long way toward ensuring the House continues to operate and we can serve every family that crosses our doorstep,” said Evanson.

Our REALTOR® members are at the forefront of everything the Charitable Foundation does. It’s their continued hands-on volunteer commitment and financial generosity that allows us to support people in our local community.
