Recycling Planned For Multi-Family Units

Some Calgary residents have a big blue bin for their recyclable materials, some take their recyclables to a depot, and for others it all hits the trash bin.

The City of Calgary is exploring a recycling program for anyone living in a multi-family unit, which is a five or more dwelling unit. By January 2016 residents should see a recycling option in their building.

As a designer who has viewed over 300 of my client's bedrooms in the last decade, I know many of you remain a bit stymied over how to "make your bed". I've seen my share of ornate; scratchy; motel-style bedspreads pulled right up over the pillows in a bumpy mess. Ridership on Calgary Transit Increased in 2013

The numbers are in, and Calgary Transit set another record in 2013, by carrying a total of 107.5 million customers. From 2012 this was 5.5 million or five per cent more than the number of transit riders in 2012.

There has been a 12 per cent increase in ridership over the past three years, which is double the rate of Calgary's population growth during this period.

Last Remaining Downtown Single-Family Home To Be Demolished

A two-bedroom, 1,200 sq. ft. house has seen the downtown section of Calgary evolve over many years since 1941.

The lone house at 933 5th Avenue S.W. is currently owned by the city hall's corporate properties division, and is on its way to being demolished. However, there is no date for when the house will be torn down.
