The town of Okotoks has voted to pursue the development of a regional water system via Calgary to meet the future growth needs.

With the town's water usage approaching the 700 million gallons per year it is permitted to draw from the nearby Sheep River, additional water capacity is required to meet the town's long-term growth plan.

Calgary's Inner City is comprised of 73 communities, covering everywhere from Albert Park to Winston Heights. These communities combine to make the Inner City a unique area with a variety of activities, restaurants and attractions and many are within walking distance.

The 2011-2012 Alberta Fire Commissioner's Statistical Report said cooking, arson/set fire and smoking are the top three causes of home fires leading to death or injury.

The report said for Alberta, "The highest number of fire deaths per month in 2011 and 2012 occurred in December (6) and October (4) respectively."
