Be Your Own Barista
Interior design trends come and go but some styles have staying power. For example, the hotel bathroom influence of the past decade is still a great idea. Lately, I've noticed a trend towards incorporating café/coffee shop style into residential kitchens. It's a trend I really like and not just because I am a coffee addict. For the couple or family who loves to entertain, the café materials and design elements make for a durable and crisp kitchen/dining room style.

Turning to Tuscany
With lush ravines, lengthy pathways and spectacular mountain views, the community of Tuscany in northwest Calgary has grown to become one of the city's most sought after neighbourhoods.
With access to Nose Hill Drive, Stoney Trail, 12 Mile Coulee and Crowchild Trail, Tuscany has plenty of access, access that's about to become that much easier with the completion of both a new CTrain station and Nose Hill Drive/Stoney Trail overpass.

Market Rolling Along
While May brought plenty of falling rain to Calgary, sales in the city's real estate industry were headed solidly in the other direction.
Driven in part by an increased demand in the condominium market, Calgary residential monthly sales improved over the previous year in May, exceeding expectations, although slowing from 2012's double digits.

June is REALTOR® Safety Month
Earlier this year, friends and family of murdered real estate agent Lindsay Buziak held a memorial march in Saanich, B.C.
Five years have passed since the 24-year-old woman was stabbed to death while showing a luxury home in the Victoria suburb. Police believe she was lured to the vacant home and killed by someone posing as a homebuyer.

The Kindest Cut
No one does any pruning in the wild. Not unless you consider the effects of high winds and branches ripped off by moose-in-rut pruning. But the city is a different kind of place. We have small spaces and big dreams. We want tidy even if our stated goal is low maintenance.
So the conversation eventually comes around to pruning. "This sounds like marriage therapy" called out a heckler at a talk I was giving earlier this month.

Foothills Fabulous
Ask any Calgarian the best way to spend a weekend off and you'll invariably hear a great deal about the splendor of the Rocky Mountains. Southern Alberta's geographical claim to fame, the area provides an idyllic outdoor setting with plenty of opportunity for adventure.
Sitting just a short drive away from Calgary lay the communities of Priddis, Bragg Creek and Redwood Meadows. Nestled in the heart of the Alberta foothills, the three communities offer a glimpse into what living in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains is all about.
