McKenzie Towne
In the dozen or so years since becoming a Calgary neighbourhood, McKenzie Towne has established itself as a bustling community with a family friendly atmosphere.
"I love the neighbourhood we live in, we live in a cul-de-sac and there's a lot of kids the same age as my children," said Angelina Wong, who along with her family of four has called McKenzie Towne home for the last nine years.

Condos Back on the Rise
Calgary's condo market is enjoying a resurgence in response to declining single-family inventory in homes available for under $400,000.
"While total new listings are declining, there has been a rise in the number of condominium apartments available in the $200,000 to $400,000 segment," said Ann-Marie Lurie, CREB®'s chief economist.

Be Water Wise
Calgary is fortunate enough to be a city with not one, but two water supplies, the Bow and Elbow Rivers. The Elbow River Watershed covers 1,235 square kilometres while the Bow River flows from the Bow Glacier north of Lake Louise covering a watershed of 25,000 square kilometres.
"As Calgary's population continues to grow, so does the demand on our rivers. More people means more showers and baths, more flushing, more dish washing and more laundry," said the City's 2012 Water Report. "Since we have a finite supply of water, we need to use it wisely to ensure we have enough to meet our future water demands."

Massive West Campus Development Moves Forward
A massive project that would see more than 60-hectares of currently undeveloped land bordering Shaganappi Trail transformed into a "complete, vibrant and sustainable" community has taken another step forward.
Sitting on the western side of the University of Calgary Campus, the West Campus Development recently saw its first round of public engagement panels, designed to gauge public opinion of the mixed-use project.

Almost 200,000 Housing Starts in February
According to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), 195,087 homes were started in Canada in February, a trend of the six-month moving average of monthly seasonally adjusted annual rates (SAAR) of housing starts.
"The trend in total housing starts continued to moderate in February. Moderation in economic fundamentals in the second half of 2012 has led to more modest housing demand and builders are adjusting accordingly," said Mathieu Laberge, deputy chief economist at CMHC.
