2013 Forecast Conference & Tradeshow
Are we there yet? It seems so far away, but realistically the 2013 Forecast Conference & Tradeshow is just around the corner and planning is well underway.
This year, the format has changed slightly with all sessions being held in the main room. We did this to alleviate some of the shuffling around but mostly so you don't miss a speaker because of session time conflicts.

Improving Sales Activity
Residential sales activity continues to improve in Calgary, as year-over-year sales for the month of September increased by 11 per cent.
After the first three quarters of the year, residential sales within Calgary limits totaled 17,018, a 15 per cent increase over 2011, painting a different picture than the national real estate market.

Chinook Centre Announces Major Expansion
Calgary's biggest mall might be getting a whole lot bigger. Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited, owner of Chinook Centre in southwest Calgary, has announced expansion plans that would add one million sq. ft. to the mall's existing 1.4 million sq. ft.
The news comes just after Nordstrom's announced they would be moving into the mall in the fall of 2014, marking the American retailer's first foray into the Canadian market.

Getting to Know Nosehill
Reportedly taking its name from the distinctive (at least if you use a little imagination) nose-like hillsides that surround the area, the Nose Hill Natural Environment Park – as it's officially known – is one of the largest municipal parks in North America. Encompassing 11 square kilometres of native grassland in northwest Calgary, the park was created in 1980 after citizens spoke out against a plan to turn the area into a residential development.
