Small Business Week is almost upon us. An event started by the Business Development Bank of Canada in 1979, Small Business Week "pays tribute to the contributions that small and medium-sized business make to the Canadian economy" as stated on the Calgary Chamber of Commerce Small Business Week Website.

Small Business Week Calgary.com is a gold mine of information; did you know that small business – defined as having fewer than 50 employees – account for 95 per cent of all business activity in Alberta?

REALTORS®, brokers, brokerages, and so many of CREBS® members and those they work with are small businesses. That is why CREB® is a partner organization with the Calgary Chamber of Commerce for Small Business Week.

The Chamber has put together some great events to give new businesses and established businesses educational opportunities from learning how to find new customers to networking events to developing your business strategy.

CREB® will also be offering courses during small business week. While many will be geared towards REALTORS® just as many are open to the general public, including goal setting and marketing plan development.

So whether you are well established or just starting out, there will be something for you to choose from during all of the Small Business Week events.
