Earlier this month the City of Calgary mailed out more than half a million property and business assessment notices marking the beginning of a 60-day customer review period - here's a breakdown of some of the numbers.03/06: Changes to 2015 assessments can only be made if received during the customer review period running until March 6.
$475,000: The 2015 median single residential assessment is $475,000 compared to $430,000 in 2014 2014: The median residential condo assessment in 2014 was $260,000 compared to $290,000 this year
20K: In 2011, the City handled more than 20,000 customer inquires through their year-round customer inquiry service
2012: In 2012, the residential and multi-residential base was $165 billion
07/01: As required by provincial legislation, 2015 property assessments reflect the market value of a property as of July 1, 2014 and the physical condition as of Dec. 31, 2014
10%: In 2015, an additional 10 per cent of business tax revenues will be transferred to and collected through the non-residential property tax as part of the business tax consolidation process
$175 billion: In 2013, the assessment roll value was $175 billion
3,600: In 20ll, the City responded to more than 3,600 formal requests for assessment information
