Investing in our communities

Applications are now open for three new grant programs from the CREB® REALTOR® Community Foundation designed to support local housing and shelter initiatives.

“Our new giving framework builds on the foundation’s long legacy of giving,” said Sharon Bercuson, chair of the CREB® REALTOR® Community Foundation. “I’m thrilled to see it all coming to life and especially proud to showcase the community spirit of REALTORS® in a time when people need it most.”

Because community need is complex, the new grant programs will help the Foundation respond to housing and shelter issues from multiple angles:

  • CREB® Legacy Grants, the Foundation’s signature funding stream, aim to achieve substantial, progressive changes for communities in the area of housing and shelter.
  • CREB® Community Grants support projects that improve opportunities for people to stay in their home and community.
  • CREB® Transformation Grants respond to community infrastructure needs by helping expand, renovate and/or repair existing spaces.

Through strategic investments in local non-profit organizations, these grant programs will create new housing options, keep people housed and improve housing quality.

“This is how we think we can make the largest impact and support our non-profit partners who make it all happen,” said Jason Yule, CREB®’s manager of communications and community investment.

Grant applications are open until Sept. 1, 2020 and successful applicants will be notified by Sept. 30, 2020. Full instructions on how to apply are available at creb.com/community_investment/granting.
