Once considered a bit of a blight on Calgary's landscape, the emerging East Village is fast becoming a sought-after destination for both residential living and entertainment seekers.

Here's some photos throughout the last few years of it's evolution.

Winter 2013: Condo developments have now popped up to the southwest of the Simmons Building.

Summer activities in the village include yoga classes.

Summer 2014: Condo developments are quickly growing. Hotel and retail projects have also been announced.

Summer 2014 also marked the grand opening of the St. Patrick's Bridge linking East Village to Bridgeland.

Fall 2014: Crews work on the rejuvenated St. Patrick's Island.
