Sirocco at Pine Creek is a new golf-friendly development worth the drive

Developers are teeing up a new community on Calgary's southwestern edge designed to appeal to both golfers and non-players alike.

Tucked away in the Rocky Mountain foothills, Sirocco at Pine Creek is a master-planned community with a prime location, a variety of front-drive and paired homes, and a picturesque golf course that shares its name.

"Our most notable amenity is proximity to the Sirocco Golf Course," said Megan Starke, marketing manager for Anthem United. "It's a semi-private course, so the public can visit, and some of our builders are offering memberships when you purchase a home, which is a great perk for avid golfers."

Once the community is completed, 100 lots will be available along the ridge overlooking the course. Alternatively, many front-drive homes back onto a storm pond where residents can enjoy exceptional views right away, as well as four landscaped parks and five kilometres of pathways throughout the development.
"We're very excited to have the golf course nearby, and buyers seem to share our enthusiasm." - Megan Starke, Anthem United

"We have elevated architecture compared to other communities in the area that brings an amazing feel when you first drive in, and really pretty fencing that wraps around the development," said Starke. "It's a higher-end feel without the higher price point."

Homes with front-attached garages start in the low $500,000s and paired homes start from the mid-$400,000s. Front-drive showhomes are now open, with paired showhomes opening in August. The community grand opening is set for Sept. 14.

From a practical standpoint, Sirocco at Pine Creek is within minutes of retail, grocery stores, restaurants, schools and other conveniences in Silverado, Walden, Legacy and Shawnessy.

Thanks to three major roads leaving the area, residents can also access a range of local attractions, including Fish Creek Park, Cavalry FC of the Canadian Premier League, Granary Road, Spruce Meadows and the Shops at Shawnessy Village.

Despite this embarrassment of riches, the golf course remains the top attraction for many would-be community residents.

"We're very excited to have the golf course nearby, and buyers seem to share our enthusiasm," said Starke.

"The name Sirocco comes from an award-winning Arabian horse and we chose it based on its history. People can be proud of the name and the heritage behind it. The course also has one of the prettiest clubhouses in Calgary, and they run a popular wing night, so it's an ideal way to bring the family out and enjoy the surroundings."
